Buhler Staff and Families,
Some decisions on cancelling school are clear and obvious - tonight’s decision is not quite so clear. After driving many roads, I am still not comfortable with having high school students driving the roads to Buhler. This is a long way of saying:
*Buhler Schools will not have school on Wednesday, January 8th.
*Our daycares, Buhler Beginnings and Crusader Corner, will be open with normal hours.
*Again, a decision on practices will be made by 12:00 tomorrow and communicated through your student’s coaches.
Today’s shout out still includes our maintenance folks but I would also like to thank Reno County Roads Dept for checking the Medora Road and putting more sand on it. I think it will be critical in helping the road clear more by Thursday.
If you or your kids are getting cabin fever and need something to do, feel free to come clear off our playground blacktops! I bet our elementary teachers will be thankful to have outdoor recess when they return!

Buhler Staff and Families,
Due to the road conditions, Buhler Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 7th. All scheduled events are also cancelled. A decision on practices will be made by 12:00 Tuesday.
The two daycares, Crusader Corner and Buhler Beginnings, will be open Tuesday with normal hours.
Our maintenance workers have worked in the cold all day to clear lots and sidewalks. A big thank you to Steve Armbrust, Isaac Broeckelman, Randall Schultz and our folks who stepped in and helped today: Seth Gould, James Metzger, Ian Metzger, and Thomas Montano. Hopefully tomorrow road conditions will improve as we look forward to having everyone back after a long break.

Happy New Year! 2025 has started out with a little fog, freezing drizzle, sleet, snow, wind, and low wind chills. We got all winter has to offer in 48 hours. Due to the road conditions, Buhler Schools will be closed Monday, January 6th.
Because of the severity of road conditions, our daycares, Buhler Beginnings and Crusader Corner, will also be closed Monday, January 6th.
A decision on practices will be made by 12:00 Monday and communicated through our coaches.

SAVE THE DATE!
On January 17th, 2025 the Buhler Education Foundation will be hosting Dueling Pianos in the brand NEW 1861 Club on the state fairgrounds. In addition to the excellent entertainment there will be raffles, amazing local flavors, and opportunities to learn how the foundation serves our students and schools.
Tickets will be available by December 9th and you'll be able to find that info on our website and social media. We hope to see you there!

We had a surprise visit from our new friends with Hutchinson PD today, and they brought their drone with them that is used in surveillance and clearing buildings! Did you know drone pilots can find careers in both the public and private sectors? If that intrigues you, you might be interested to know that at Ad Astra Academies we offer a drone piloting class for high school students that helps prepare students to take the drone pilot exam.

Mrs. Kohls and Ms. Shook are at Prairie Hills Middle School this afternoon cheering on our #42! 🏀 Did you know Ad Astra Academies virtual and alternative students can participate in KSHSAA sponsored activities in school buildings if they meet KSHSAA's academic requirements?
This month's Core Essential Value is generosity. Our students will be discussing how, "making someone's day by giving something away," can impact our friends, neighbors, and classmates throughout November.
