Ad Astra Academies State Fair Field Trip Information

Our field trip to the state fair will be on Tuesday, September 15. Here are the key details:

We will meet at GATE 5 at 8:50 am.

Students must bring a lunch and a water bottle. We will not be going to the food court, so they should not count on buying food from vendors.

Students must stay with the Ad Astra group during our field trip. Parents are welcome to meet us at the fairgrounds at 8:50 and attend the field trip with us, but students must stay with the group to be counted present for the day.

We will NOT be going to the carnival/Midway during our field trip. Students are welcome to return on their own after school on Tuesday to enjoy the carnival without having to pay admission, since they will be able to re-enter the fair later in the day.

They are welcome to bring some money, but they will need to stay with the group so options for spending the money will be limited.

We will leave the fair at about 1:00 and return to school for some academic work time. Parents can check their student out at the end of the field trip, but otherwise alternative students will come back to the building.

Alternative students need to bring their computers to school with them on Tuesday, because we expect to work on classes after we return from the fair.

Buhler Staff and Families, Our district is struggling with keeping our buildings cool and we have a few systems down after the storm last night. Due to the extreme heat, Buhler Schools will dismiss 2 hours early again today, Friday, August 14th. Our buildings will run the same schedule as we had yesterday with the two hour dismissal. Cares Club will operate as normal as their area is not affected. Cindy Couchman, Superintendent

47 days of serving breakfasts and lunches is coming to an end this week. As of last Friday, they have served 50,192 lunches and 50,192 breakfasts which means we served an average of 1067 students every day.

They have served in the rain and the heat (boy howdy!) and always with a smile on their face. We hope you have enjoyed and appreciated them as much as we have enjoyed serving you.

HOWEVER - all good things must come to an end - at least until next year. The last day for summer meals at our 2 locations (BHS and UV) will be THURSDAY, July 30th. On Thursday, students will receive lunches and breakfasts for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday so come with a way of transporting meals if you are picking up for a larger group!
