Ad Astra STEAM Academy is a collaborative, career-connected program for USD 313 students in grades 9–12, developed in partnership with the Kansas Cosmosphere. Designed for students with a strong interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, the academy blends rigorous academic coursework with immersive, hands-on learning experiences rooted in aerospace and innovation. Through project-based learning, students engage in design challenges, engineering tasks, and real-world problem solving while building skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Students benefit from access to industry experts, specialized facilities, and unique field experiences that connect classroom learning to future careers. By fostering curiosity, purpose, and innovation, Ad Astra STEAM Academy empowers students to explore their passions and prepare for success in college, careers, and beyond.
