On Thursday Buhler Superintendent Cindy Couchman announced a new Covid 19 testing protocol that will allow close contacts to remain in school, activities, and at work. Close contacts may participate in daily testing with guardian permission enabling individuals to remain in the educational setting. Vaccinated close contacts do not need to test daily but must wear a mask.
A flow chart of possibilities is included below for reference. Couchman clarified that if data begins to show that close contacts are testing positive in high rates the program may have to be reconsidered, along with universal masking possibilities.
We believe that this program gives us the opportunity to keep kids and adults in school and activities while also continuing to keep our community safe.
